The Sixth Sense mysteries—Angela’s upcoming series, a spin-off of the popular Witch Way Librarian mysteries—debuts in February 2026 with A Whiff of Murder. The series features the occupants of a Victorian mansion-turned-rooming house set in Astoria, Oregon, and is infused with vintage perfume, magical realism, murder, and heart.
Angela’s nonfiction writing includes features articles for Culture, Portland Monthly, Portland, and Edible Portland magazines, among others. Her love of perfume earned her a long-running column in the popular blog Now Smell This and led to articles for Nez, a perfume magazine based in Paris.
Before venturing into fiction, Angela was a congressional investigator focusing on nuclear waste and natural resource policies. Her interviewees ranged from fishermen off the Florida Keys to managers at chemical companies in the Czech Republic to workers at the heart of a nuclear reactor manufacturing weapons-grade tritium. Through it all, Angela often found her attention straying to the photos on desks, remnants of lunch pushed to the side, and interviewees’ mindless doodles. Which of these people might have considered a life in the priesthood? Which one raised budgies? Which person had secrets they hid beneath an anxious, bland smile? It quickly became apparent Angela’s true vocation was as a novelist.
Angela lives in Portland, Oregon. When she’s not spinning murder plots at her desk, she’s often lounging in an antique Chinese wedding bed—her lady fort—reading vintage crime novels amidst a pile of pillows and a subtle waft of L’Heure Bleue.
